You are concerned about a potential downturn in prices. To address this worry, you decide to purchase HKREX Home Price Protection. This policy guarantees a pay-out of HKD 2 million if the market index experiences a decline exceeding 20% over the course of one year.

A pay-out will be triggered, and once the process is complete, the deposit amount will be swiftly transferred to your designated payment channel within a maximum timeframe of 5 working days.

  • By purchasing Home Price Protection, you're entering into a real-estate option contract. The Contract gives you the right to receive a cash payout from HKREX if the Ending Indicative Property Value on the Expiration Date falls below the agreed upon Property Value Trigger. To be eligible for this Payout, you need to be the owner of the Property in the specified Market as per the terms of the Contract.

  • It's simple. We track housing prices in your Market. If home prices in your market decline below the a certain threshold, set at the time of your purchase, you receive a Payout. A Payout is designed to offset the potential decline in value of your home. You don’t have to file a claim or sell your home in order to receive a cash distribution. Once you receive a Payout that money is yours. There are no clawbacks should home prices in your market rise in the future.

  • We aim to make the payment process for your Home Price Protection purchase as simple and secure as possible. Currently, we accept payments via credit or debit cards. You can conveniently process your payment through our secure platform at the time of your purchase. Please note that we are continuously working to provide you with additional convenient payment options in the future.

  • Yes, there is an option for cancellation. You can choose to cancel your Contract within five (5) business days of the Effective Date. To do so, you must send a written termination notice to HKREX within this timeframe. Upon successful cancellation within the specified period, you'll receive a full refund of the Contract Price. However, once this five-business-day period has passed, please note that the Contract Price becomes non-refundable.
